Ready-made fund portfolios

A fund portfolio here is two real US-listed funds held together at fixed weights and rebalanced daily. These pages show what each one actually did — yearly return, Sharpe and the worst drop — next to both of the funds inside it. Data as of 2026-10-23.

Data as of 2026-10-23 · window 2016-10-23 → 2026-10-23 · fixed weights, rebalanced daily · dividends reinvested, fund fees already deducted · Market Data from Tiingo.com

Which style should I look at?

StylePortfoliosHighest return a yearThat portfolio's worst dropShallowest worst drop in style
Stable20+6.99% a year (TFLO + XLK)-6.54%-6.54%
Balanced29+14.99% a year (DXJ + FLOT)-32.71%-21.77%
Growth57+20.00% a year (NDXKX + DXJ)-28.49%-24.90%

What each style means

  • Stable — Stable pairs a defensive fund with a growth fund, so most of the money sits in the calmer half. The point is a much shallower ride, not the biggest number.
  • Balanced — Balanced is the middle of the road: a broad equity fund blended with something that zig-zags at different times. Neither the calmest nor the fastest.
  • Growth — Growth leans on the faster half — technology, semiconductors, momentum — blended with a second fund that behaves differently. Bigger moves, both ways.

A fourth style (Aggressive) is part of the paid plan and is not published on this page — it is shown inside the tool. See pricing.

How these portfolios are built

Each portfolio is a pair of funds from our screened pool, held at a fixed weight and rebalanced daily over the same window, with dividends reinvested and fees already deducted from the returns. The list is arithmetic — we do not rank by opinion, and we do not publish signals or forecasts.

How to read this table

  • Return a year — annualised (CAGR) over the window shown; the portfolio is rebalanced daily, so each percentage is the portfolio, not one of its two funds.
  • Sharpe — return per unit of volatility, risk-free rate taken as zero. Higher means smoother, not better.
  • Worst drop — the deepest peak-to-trough fall in the window. This is the column people feel most.
  • Every fund name links to its own page with its own history, fees and every calendar year.

What this page is not

It is not investment advice, not a recommendation, and not a forecast. The portfolios are arithmetic over past data — fixed pairs, same rules for everyone. We publish no ratings and no "best fund" list. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
